Face Painting: For Kids And The Big Kid In You!

Face Painting and Body Art: Just a bit of fun for children or also fun AND sophistication for adults?

There's a common misconception that face painting and body art is just for children.  Well, I'm here to reassure you that nothing could be further from the truth. Nor is it 'just for girls'!

When you think about face painting or body art, what do you think of?  I suspect most people think of face painting as a fun colourful addition to a little girl's birthday party.  You know, unicorns, butterflies and sparkles. D'you know what? You'd be absolutely right!  BUT, there is so much more to it than that.  No only is it a colourful addition, where children can express themselves, be creative or even feel extra special, it is absolutely for adults, whether it's the young at heart, the trendsetters or the sophisticated.

Face painting is great for all types of people and all types of occasions. It is such a wonderful way to create memories and be in the moment.  Whether it is a child coming out with a wonderful (and sometimes weird) image they've created in their heads or something a little more traditional. Quite simply put, it's fun and surprisingly relaxing!

Have you ever looked around at an event or images online and seen who else engages with body art?  It could be a teenager who thinks they're too old for face paints but still wants to have something done, perhaps a graffiti inspired arm paint or maybe air brush tattoos.  Perhaps it's the pregnant woman who wants to celebrate her pregnancy with some beautiful artwork and gorgeous photos.  Maybe it's the hen party or group of friends going to a party or festival and they want to sparkle and stand out.  Maybe it's a henna design, such as Mendi for a wedding, or they want something to last longer maybe for their holiday.  A club night, Halloween, a birthday, or even body art and face painting to match your wedding outfit, there's a service for everyone and for any occasion.

I have had the pleasure of painting littlies (aged 3 and up), teenagers, young men who are into heavy metal (and become pink and purple sparkly tigers), some beautiful baby bumps, and even doing first time paints on grandparents well into their 70s at birthday parties.  Along the way I have had some interesting requests from a Kookaburra to a vampire octopus (that has spikes, obviously) and many more wonderful requests, including the popular classics such as spiderman, unicorns, butterflies and tigers,

Whether you're aged 3 or 103, male or female, if you're into glitz and glam or if you're a rocker, there is no wrong when it comes to having fun and expressing yourself through a range of body art.
